I’ve now converted my side blog of Miko and my road trip to the south west of the USA into a more permanent and readable webpage (you can see it, up there, next to “Mix Archive”) . This has all been made a lot easier thanks to Tim Hodson’s  “Blog in Blog” Wordpress plug in which converts a wp catagory into a webpage. Hope you like it.

Well, yes it is. Sadly, after 2 years (maybe more?) of doing Back To Mine, in Second Life on a Friday, it’s getting harder and harder for me to turn up to my own nights so it’s time to change. In Autumn 2009 I was extremely privileged to be asked to contribute a visual piece to be included in John Rixon’s (a.k.a Amukidi) “Quiet Voices” show at The Tate Britain on January 8th 2010. The music John gave me to interpret was a new piece called “First Light” from Sounds From The Ground (whom I’ve worked with as their VJ for the last 6 years) and is available as a download only release. The footage itself all comes from various national parks in the South West of USA: We start in the Petrified Forest, move on to Canyon de Chelly and the final scene is from Zion National Park. All the content was shot on a Panasonic HDC HS300 and edited in Final Cut Pro.

This Friday finds me full with man flu and all assorted badness blocking my breathing so again not much speaking going on and lots of lovely music instead. Hope you enjoy this germ free pressy from me:

Sadly there’s no show this week as dufus, here managed to record the whole thing at a completely distorted level , rendering it unlistenable, however I do have other news. I’ve been asked to contribute a short film to accompany “First Light” by Sounds From The Ground for a show – called Quiet Voices – at the Tate Britain that’s being curated by John Rixon (a.k.a Amukidi), on Friday 8th January, 2010 between 6pm and 10pm.

I’m completely stoked, excited, humbled, daunted and numerous other confusing emotions by this news as it’s completely beyond what I’d ever hope to acheive as a “VJ”, but I do hope that some of you can make it down to London to see the show, not only for me but for the plethora of talent that my film will be a small part of.

Normal service will resume next week.

This video, directed by Miko Coffey – mikocoffey.com – is comprised of 5,600 individual still images which were converted into image sequences, then into quick time movies, then put together by me in Final Cut Pro. There’s a tiny bit of video footage in there, too.

The Single “The Storm” is due for release on Just Music – justmusic.co.uk – in Mid November.
